A heavy, rock solid  wood found in the Antelope valley and belongs to the Joshua Tree, typical to this part of the Mojave Desert. It is made by the plant as it lays down silica in the cell walls, in its attempt to wall off the injuries done by the borers, by fire, or by wind.

This Heavy piece was converted to  a table lamp with a light that shows its distinctive features and curves. The light is rechargeable and no electrical hook up is needed.
